Badung (Atnews) - Dr. Shashank Vikram, Consul General extended warm Holi greetings to all attendees of vibrant Holi Festival, the celebration of colours.
organised by Consulate General of India and Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC) Bali in collaboration with The Nusa Dua, ITDC, successfully organised the on Saturday, 7 March 2026, at the scenic Nusa Dharma Island within the ITDC Tourism Area, Bali.
The event brought together over 400 participants, including members of the Indian community, Indonesian friends, tourists, and cultural enthusiasts, to celebrate one of India’s most joyful and symbolic festivals.
Holi, widely known as the Festival of Colours, marks the arrival of spring and symbolizes the triumph of good over evil, the renewal of relationships, and the spirit of unity and joy. The celebration in Bali reflected these values by bringing together diverse communities in a lively atmosphere filled with colour, music, dance, and cultural exchange.
Director of the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre Mr Naveen Meghwal delivered welcome remarks, highlighting the cultural significance of Holi and its role in fostering friendship and harmony across communities.
Consul General in his remarks emphasized that Holi represents joy, inclusiveness, and the celebration of diversity—values that resonate strongly with the long-standing cultural ties and friendship between India and Indonesia. He expressed appreciation to The Nusa Dua, ITDC, and all partners and participants for their support in organizing the event and making it a vibrant cultural celebration in Bali.
General Manager of The Nusa Dua, I Made Agus Dwiatmika, stated that the selection of Nusa Dharma Island as the venue for the Holi Festival reflects international trust and recognition of The Nusa Dua’s readiness to host global-scale events. He also expressed appreciation to the Consulate General of India in Bali for the trust extended to The Nusa Dua.
According to him, the festival reflects the spirit of unity and cross-cultural friendship, while also aligning with the positive trend of Indian tourist arrivals, which are now among the top five visitor markets to The Nusa Dua. He added that the occasion further strengthens ITDC’s commitment to positioning The Nusa Dua as an inclusive and adaptive world-class destination.
The event featured a series of lively cultural performances, including energetic Bollywood dance performances by Rhythm of Rasa, Suradiva Art Studio, and India in Bali, which captivated the audience and added to the festive atmosphere.
Following the formal segment, the Consul General and the Director of SVCC symbolically inaugurated the Holi celebration, joined by the representative of The Nusa Dua, ITDC. The celebration continued with participants enthusiastically playing with colourful powders, dancing to lively music played by the DJ, and enjoying the festive spirit that Holi embodies.
The festival created a vibrant space for cultural interaction and community bonding, reflecting the spirit of friendship between India and Indonesia and highlighting Bali’s openness to global cultural celebrations. Families, students, members of the diaspora, tourists, and local residents participated enthusiastically, turning Nusa Dharma Island into a lively canvas of colours and joy.
Consulate General of India in Bali and the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre expressed their appreciation to The Nusa Dua, ITDC, participating artists, volunteers, and all attendees whose enthusiasm contributed to the success of the event.
