Badung, 6/5 (Atnews)—
Economic and Development Administration Assistant at the Bali Regional Secretariat, Dr. Ida Bagus Kade Subhiksu, hoped the Bali tourism development by fixing infrastructure.
“Our weakness in infrastructure will affect the convenience when guests are in Bali. Today, the distance between Denpasar-Singaraja and Singaraja-Karangasem is still far away,” said Subhiksu in Denpasar, Tuesday (May 6).
This was stated in the Bali International Tourism Congress organized by International Academy of Tourism Study in cooperation with the Nusa Dua Tourism Institute (STPND) Bali.
He said the airport on the Island of the Gods does not only rely on Ngurah Rai Airport alone. For this reason, Bali needs to add a new airport as an alternative so that airport closure incident in Bali will not be repeated again during the eruption of Mount Agung.
“This anticipation needs to be prepared by Bali as an international tourist destination,” he affirmed.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the STPND Bali, Dewa Gede Ngurah Byomantara, added the event was an appropriate moment in advancing Bali tourism.
“This event brings in many international tourism artists to discuss about the future of tourism in the next 10-20 years,” he said.
The speakers have established qualification so that their expertise does not need to be worried about. For this reason, his party will prepare human resources (HR) that are globally competitive. The effort serves as a contribution in maintaining and sustaining culture-based tourism. (ART/ika)
