ISKCON Indonesia Distributes Bhagavad Gita to Strengthen Hindu Belief

Karangasem, 11/8 (Atnews) – Chairperson of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) Indonesia, I Wayan Subagio, strengthened the belief of Hindu young generation towards God Almighty.
“We focus on building human resources (HR) with character and virtuousness in accordance with the national personality,” said Subagio in Karangasem, on Sunday (Aug. 11).
This was conveyed in the social services in series of the 74th anniversary of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia coupled with the 58th anniversary of the Indonesian Scout Movement.
Featuring the theme ‘Pancasila Values to Strengthen the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia’ the activity was organized by Atnews Press with APTK LARON, SMPN 3 Bebandem junior high school, Scout Front Cluster 04.007-04.008 based at SMPN 3 Bebandem, Bhuana village, Komala customary village and Bhuana Giri village-owned enterprise (BUMDes).
He appreciated to the positive activities organized to target young people by involving junior high school (SMP) and elementary school (SD) students. Such understanding should be given from an early age as stock to fill in the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia having entered the age of 74 years.
On that occasion, he handed over Vedic scripture, Bhagavad Gita, to all temple priests who were present as well as chief of Komala customary village along with senior figures of Bhuana Giri village.
Meanwhile, Dharmaduta of the Indonesia Hindu Dharma Parishad (PHDI) of Bali Province, Ketut Ardana, added that Bhagavad Gita can be used as a guide for Hindus in their daily lives.
“This effort is a form of implementation of Pancasila,” said Ardana when giving sermon (dharma vacana) featuring the material on the Formation of National Character According to Bhagavad Gita.
The presentation on the importance of studying Bhagavad Gita is highly recommended in the kali yuga or present times.
In the meantime, headman of Bhuana Giri, Wayan Mudu, and chief of Komala customary village, Wayan Putu, hoped the event could be continued in a sustainable manner. The event was also attended by the Head of Karangasem Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), Ida Bagus Ketut Arimbawa and President Director of Atnews, Wayan Artaya.
For the entertainment, the event was enlivened by the Panama Dance presented by SMPN 3 Bebandem junior high school, FLS2N Dance entitled Gelanggang Mahardika as well as guest stars like Gek Rus Idol, Widi BRTV, Gek Enik and Gus Yuda.
The event was supported by ISKCON Indonesia, Akar Bali, a member of the Bali House of Representative Oka Antara, INTI Healthy Bali Club (IKBS), Bali Province and Karangasem Food Security Services, Karangasem Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), Smartfren Bali, PT Sariniaga Motor Honda Bali, Smartdesa, Pasebaya Agung Bali, Benlaris, Yowana Sanggraha Dharma Mahotama Bhuana Giri village youth club.
