Taiwan, 23/9 (Atnews) - The International Bali Institute of Tourism (STPBI) won the MICE Sustainability Award at the international event named MICE Destination Marketing Contest 2019 which is regularly organized every year at the Taipei International Convention Center, Taipei, Taiwan on September 18-20, 2019.
The competition was followed by 16 universities from various countries in the world such as Indonesia, Germany, Taiwan, India, Malaysia and Vietnam.
Having been organized since 2008, the competition featured the theme of the SITE Global Conference 2022 where the contestants mutually competed to voice ideas in the MICE field.
The contested categories include Bidding Proposal, English Marketing Presentation as well as Exhibition Booth.
Organized by the International Trade Institute and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the competition is aimed at creating competent and professional young people in the field of Meeting, Incentive, Conference and Exhibition (MICE).
This was conveyed by the Head of the Indonesian Team, Putu Gede Wiwin Gunawasika, accompanied by Gede Yudiya Permana, Yovita Ermilinda Hamsale, Sarah Geraldine Wullur, Gede Yudiya Permana, I Putu Niko Setiawan, Ni Made Meiyanti Lestari and I Wayan Sujana. The team led by Putu Gede Wiwin Gunawasika became the only representative from Indonesia. For this reason, he considered to be able to compete in the competition, making him increasingly thirsty and get challenged in the field of MICE.
This man who is also Chairperson of the Indonesian Exhibition Companies Association (Asperapi) of Bali Chapter hoped the competition can be held consistently every year with a wider and wider number of participants from various countries not only in Asia.
Likewise, he hoped such efforts can trigger the growth of new and creative ideas in the field of MICE. “In the future, we hope more and more young people will participate in this event so that more young experts in the MICE field can perform both nationally and internationally,” added Niko.
Additionally, the event is in line with the efforts of the regional government related to the program of Bali Governor Wayan Koster in the field of education and tourism as well as the program of President Joko Widodo on the year of increasing superior human resources.
Certainly, it cannot be equated with the practical sales mission program because the government and industry apply different way of implementation. There will be real results having good impacts on industry and foreign exchange earnings.
In terms of the players alone, it is definitely different because the sales mission is carried out by tourism industry while the MICE international competition is carried out by potential MICE player aspirants. (ART/*/02)
