International Day Of Yoga (ist/atnews)
Badung (Atnews) - Dhyan Foundation in collaboration with local partners conducted back-to-back events in Bali and Lombok for the International Day of Yoga (IDY26), bringing this ancient Vedic science to the heart of Indonesia.
Dhyan Foundation is a global phenomenon committed to spreading awareness about the authentic path of Yog as laid down by Sage Patanjali over 5000 yrs ago. Dhyan Foundation is inspired by the teachings of Ashwini Guruji, a modern day true spiritual Guru, and an authority on the ancient Vedic sciences of Yoga, Ayurveda, Mantras, Vedic Martial Arts, Spiritual Healing and Yagyas.
Dhyan Foundation conducts workshops, sessions, and retreats on Sanatan Kriya, Ashtang Yog, Mantra Chanting, Spiritual Healing, Art of the Mace (Gada), Vedic Martial Arts, Ayurveda, Tandav, and Stotras across the globe, free of cost, in line with the ancient Guru Shishya Parampara.
Thousands have benefitted from these practices and reported positive changes in their health, cognitive abilities, productivity, focus, and emotional stability, among other aspects.
Events in Indonesia were attended by people belonging to a diversity of backgrounds, a reflection of Ashwini Guruji’s thought “A Yogi is not bound by age, diet, gender, lifestyle or religion. Yoga sets you free.”
On the morning of 20thJune 2026, people gathered from in and around Bali’s Dalung region to celebrate IDY26 with Dhyan Foundation and AT News at the historical Monumen Perjuangan Bangsals’ Taman Shiva Loka in Pasraman Puri Puncak.
Following this, on 21st June morning, Dhyan Foundation in collaboration with a local charitable group - Dhyan Gandari and Suranadi temple management committee, held a sizeable Yoga event at the Wantilan of Pura Suranadi, Lombok, supported by head of village Suranadi South and KKN students from IAHN.
In Bali, Chairman of DHD 45 Bali Province, Pak Bagus Ngurah Rai presented a memento to Dhyan Foundation, in recognition of their contribution to the community yoga movement in Bali. In Lombok, Director of Hindu University Mataram (IAHN), graced the gathering with his presence and delivered inspiring opening remarks for the International Day of Yoga.
As the case with all Dhyan Foundation sessions, these 2 programs were conducted entirely free of cost. Dhyan Foundation believes Yog is a sadhana and not a business; as Ashwini Guruji always says “When you put a cost to something it ties it down - & when something is tied down it can never achieve its full potential”.
The session started and ended with self-assessment of breath, because the faster you breathe the faster you age. After the session almost all participants reported slower, longer and deeper breaths.
The practices taught here in is based on Sanatan kriya, which encapsulate all eight limbs of Patanjali Ashtang Yog in totality. It was devised by Ashwini Guru ji to suit the hectic lifestyle of modern man, and aims to induce a state of balance in various layers of existence - physical, emotional, financial and mental.
The efficacy of the practice of Sanatan Kriya has been accepted by leading doctors and scientists (testimonials can be read at dhyanfoundation.com). During the IDY26 events participants were shown short videos on the true power of Yog – with the example of the higher ability of clairvoyance - where students of Ashwini Guru ji gave a live demonstration in front of 200 doctors at Indian Medical Association Mumbai, identifying people’s illnesses by looking at their photographs alone.
Aligned with the global theme of “Yoga for Healthy Aging” – participants conducted several tests to judge their own lung capacity, endurance and vestibular health. Following that the session proceeded into practices that combine both physical and etheric layers of the body, finally ending with Dhyan.
In addition to Indonesia, Dhyan Foundation held dozens of IDY26 events in major cities in India, Australia, United States and the United Kingdom. For Dhyan Foundation, Yoga is not limited to the mat. Taap and Tyag: doing good karma is essential for spiritual growth.
This is why Dhyan foundation volunteers are actively involved in welfare of humans (particularly women and tribal populace), animals and environment through various service initiatives including free food distribution camps, free education for underprivileged, women empowerment programs, rural development programs, rescue-treatment-rehabilitation of sick, injured, abandoned, orphaned and rescued animals.
Since 2024, Dhyan volunteers in Indonesia have been conducting weekly Sanatan Kriya sessions free of cost and publishing regular articles on Yog, health and wellness. For more information you can write to dhyan@dhyanfoundation.com or log onto www.dhyanfoundation.com (Z/002)
